Our artists worked tirelessly to design our Prime Edition’s first 115 cards from scratch. Each one has been beautifully illustrated, with holographic foil added to the Revenue Generating Original NFT cards as a final flourish.

Understanding Spellfire’s Iconography

To add some further context to what you’ve seen, let’s explain each card’s iconography and what each different aspect means. Use this guide to help you decide how useful you might find each one in battle.

You’ll notice right away that there are two formats that cards follow. Landscape cards are the realms and dungeons that make up a player’s empire. All other cards are displayed portrait style and can be champions, artifacts, holdings, and the list goes on!

In the upper left-hand corner is an icon identifying the type of card. Seven of these icons belong to a single card type: champion. A champion can be a cleric, hero, monster, wizard, psionicist, thief, or regent.

For example, wizards have a book, and clerics have a shield. Most cards have a special ability that is given to them by their icon. Wizards gain the ability to cast wizard spells, whilst psionicists gain the ability to use psionic power cards.

Icon Numbers

All champions have a number in their icon, as do many other cards such as spells. The number is the level of the card, and the higher its level, the more powerful it is.

Finally, color plays an important role too. For instance, the wizard champion and the wizard spell have the same shape icon, but in different colors. This principle applies to each type of champion.

Recently we published videos explaining Spellfire’s gameplay and teasing our unique physical NFT cards. They’re well worth a watch, especially if you’re new to the game!
