Places in Spellfire — The Hill of Crosses
This is the darkest, most disturbing, and ominous place in the Spellfire. The sun is a rare guest in Holy Deadlands, but at the Hill of Crosses, it’s like eternal darkness, when a ray of sunshine could be seen only for a few brief moments at dawn.
When the clouds take away the sun with clouds full of rain and lightning and chaos, life here at the Hill of Crosses reminds everyone about the brutality of existence, about the darkness that is sweeping the world, about villains waiting to strike at each turn.
This place smells like death, where life seems like a faraway story, whose chapters have long been closed, but remaining ghosts are never satisfied and resting.
At the Hill of Crosses, all stories, all characters seem to have gone back to darkness. But do not be fooled. It is not a place for stilling; it’s a place where darkness meets remaining scraps of light, where villains finally corrupt the good ones, where power struggles seem never to end, and undead are greeted with open hands.
Each place in Spellfire world has its own story, climate conditions, a strange elemental influence that affects citizens or realms.
